Online Qualitative

As online research evolves and develops – especially for international research – we have been at the forefront of exploring how it can be optimally used where relevant.

In 2007 we trained up a team of experienced global partners for multi-country local language online fieldwork, initially exploring the use of online Bulletin Boards through a study with teenagers. Click here to see the Global Village presentation.

  • We have since conducted many online projects for which this is the selected appropriate approach

When to use online:
Online is a more effective way of doing research with people who are difficult to engage in face to face group discussions:

  • Business people or professionals, and affluent target groups

  • Specialised products and services and low incidence usage

  • Geographically dispersed

  • Where total anonymity is helpful or sensitive topics

  • Unable or unwilling to travel to a venue

It is a logical way to conduct research with those who are comfortable in the online environment: teens or young adults, or users of high-tech products or services

It is also ideal for Employee Research where anonymity and confidentiality are crucial

We find Bulletin Boards a powerful tool in many situations, often better than online Focus Groups. Click here to see the key merits.
